WebOct 8, 2024 · 1. Using the 1/8ufffd drill bit, make a pilot hole in the center of where you want your hood pin to go. Do this for both locations. 2. Change your drill bit to the 3/16ufffd bit and enlarge the pilot holes. 3. Place one of the automotive hood pins through each of the 3/16ufffd holes from the underside of the hood. 4. Once you've got holes made, installing the pins themselves will be easy. Place a nut and washer near the top of each pin, then slide the pins through the holes you drilled. Place another washer and nut onto the bottom of the bolt. As you screw in the pin, these nuts will provide tightness.
